Spring in the Core of WebLogic
The latest generation of WebLogic Server supports Java EE 5.0. Some of the new features?specifically DI and interception?are implemented on top of the Spring Framework. The additional code to implement Java EE constructs on top of the Spring container was the result of an open source project developed collaboratively by Interface21 and BEA. This project is not only used internally in WebLogic Server, but is usable in any environment as an add-on to Spring.
In this session, Rod Johnson and WebLogic EJB container engineer Michael Chen will describe:
- How and why Spring is used internally in the latest generation of WebLogic server
- Why this benefits users. Attendees will learn how it is possible to mix and match Java EE and more powerful Spring Framework programming model constructs in applications deployed to WebLogic Server?for example, using Spring AOP to advise EJBs.
The presentation will include a demonstration.
